The Turtle Conservancy is a nonprofit scientific and educational organization for the conservation of turtles and tortoises around the world.
Since 2005 the Conservancy has supported a highly successful breeding program at the Behler Chelonian Center, along with many other in situ research projects, adding to the knowledge of chelonians. While the Turtle Conservancy headquarters are located in New York City, the Behler Chelonian Center is located in Southern California and is the Turtle Conservancy’s captive breeding and management facility.
